Historical Walking Tour

SQUAMISH, BC- The Squamish Historical Society has created a self-guided historical walking tour for locals and visitors to enjoy in this summer. In partnership with the Downtown Business Improvement Association, Squamish 2014, Tourism Squamish, Squamish Days and the Squamish Farmers Market, the map has been installed downtown at the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Winnipeg Street to encourage everyone, young and old, to Celebrate Squamish Milestone’s. Friday, June 6th to Friday, August 29, 2014 from 5 to 8 pm
Cleveland Avenue from Winnipeg Street to Victoria Street will be transformed into a gathering place filled with food, music, family, and friends. Local food stalls will be set up offering a wide selection of tasty treats. Buskers & Street Entertainers will be stationed throughout the street. Family activities will be scattered along the street to engage the young and the young at heart. Come downtown to mingle with your neighbours and be part of the community that is what Squamish is all about.

Branding work still underway; economic development at the heart of new brand

SQUAMISH, B.C. – District of Squamish staff this week provided an update to Council on the status of the Brand Enhancement and Marketing Action Plan project. An immense amount of valuable work has been completed by the project’s Brand Development Committee (BDC), and refinements are now underway before the final brand is ready. The brand development is being driven by economic development objectives.
