What inspired you to want to open a business in downtown Squamish?
We’ve always wanted to be a part of the downtown community here in Squamish. There are some amazing local businesses here and we love the idea of becoming a part of this tight knit family.
What do you love most about having a business in Squamish?
We live and work here in Squamish. We love that our customers are also our neighbors and friends and the strong support and patronage we get from everyone here who cares about keeping small businesses going strong. Every time we step outside and look up at the Chief and the surroundings here in Squamish we fill up with so much energy too; it is a very special place to live and work.
What is your best piece of advice for any business owner?
Don’t give up. If you have a passion for what you do, keep going! Life can definitely throw a lot of curveballs your way but we’re firm believers that you can make your dreams come true as long as you keep positive and pursue your passions. The energy you put out into the world has a way of coming back to you!
What is your favorite memory of your business thus far or what are you looking forward to the most?
Though it’s a pretty fresh memory we really must say that opening our boutique on Cleveland Avenue was a really special moment for us. The new boutique is over 3 times the size of our other location in the Locavore/Cloudburst complex and this new space allows us to expand in directions we were never able to before. So we look forward to adding many more home décor items to our lineup while also continuing to grow our jewelry and other product lines.
Tell me what stores are your favorite in downtown Squamish?
We love all of the downtown businesses we’ve been to so it’s tough to settle on only a few to highlight but at the risk of missing way too many good ones here are some we really like: Be Clean Naturally, Empire of Dirt, Alice and Brohm, Sunflower Bakery, Taka Ramen, Random Clothing, XOCO, and Cleveland Meats. There are so many other great businesses too. We really do wish we could mention them all!
Anything else you would like to share with your new downtown community?
Though we’ve been doing business in Squamish for over 8 years now we’re elated to finally have a nice big space in the downtown core. So many of our neighbors have come to say hello and welcome us which has been very heartwarming. We can’t wait to meet everyone else in this growing and thriving downtown community! If you haven’t met us please come and say hello!
What sets Scandinavia Wolf apart is the personal touch invested by Kristy and her husband Jeff in crafting a significant portion of their product range. Their commitment to utilizing locally sourced materials whenever feasible speaks volumes about their dedication to sustainability. Beyond their own creations, Scandinavia Wolf thrives on collaborations with fellow artisans, makers, and businesses from Squamish and the broader Sea to Sky region.
