Sarah Keller
Sarah Keller was born in Kelowna, BC. Her love of the outdoors grew tremendously growing up in the oasis of her parent’s garden and in spending many family trips camping in BC Parks. She eventually moved to Vancouver to study Kinesiology, unaware that moving to the green Coastal Temperate Rainforest would quickly change her career plans, and instead inspire her to study algae, fungus and marine and forest ecology.
Sarah is fascinated by plants and wild things, and especially how humans interact and care for them. This passion led her to become a teacher. She currently teaches 7-9 year olds in order to help them foster the same curiosity that she has for being human, enjoying plants and finding out what may be hiding under rocks.
Sarah was featured in Vancouver is Awesome and the Squamish Chief (2021) for her ‘Sh*tty Plants of the Pacific Northwest’ poster. She enjoys using watercolour and acrylic media to convey the beauty she sees around her every day.
