The Downtown Squamish BIA and the Squamish Farmers Market (and fully supported by the District of Squamish, Tourism Squamish & The Chamber of Commerce) are excited to bring you….
On December 5th the Farmers Market will double in size across Cleveland Avenue to incorporate more Vendors from our community. It will allow small businesses in Squamish to sell their products & produce to our wonderful community. If you are a business that falls into the make, bake, grow category (no re-sale) then you will be able to apply as a Vendor for December 5. Please read on for more details about becoming a Vendor…..
As an extra spin on things, Cleveland Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic from Winnipeg to Main Street to host a Sidewalk sale. This will allow for safe and socially distanced shopping at both the Market and on Cleveland Avenue. The ‘open hours’ will be from 11am to 5pm. However the road closure will be from 7am to 6pm to allow for set up and clean up.
This entire event is to support local small businesses and to encourage our community to come downtown and enjoy some safe and socially distanced shopping this holiday season. Please note that all COVID regulations will be adhered to.
Except for the hard standing patios already on the road, Cleveland Avenue will be left clear (albeit for a little holiday decor down the centre of the road and maybe a Caroller or two) for pedestrians to safely physically distance themselves while shopping our fabulous downtown businesses.
There will be enhanced safety measures put in place, with hand sanitizing stations at intermittent areas along the road closure, volunteers moving people along that might appear to be congregating, and masks will be recommended (and supplied if necessary) to all shoppers.
This day will be community focused, funded by the BIA and replaces the Santa Claus Parade for this year.
Please come and join us in the knowledge that you can safely shop downtown to purchase gifts & products for the holidays.
