Sun Over Mountain

First Nations artist Brett Robinson created a mural of the sun with a face, a soaring eagle, green mountains and an orca swimming through blue ocean. It was painted on plywood for the 2022 Squamish Mural Walk.

When I was a younger man, my Dad and I were looking down the Douglas Channel on the Haisla Territory. He pointed out a canoe shape in the mountains and told me around the time the sun falls into the canoe is the time the Oolicans run (find the canoe). So I dedicated this mural to that memory and the knowledge our fathers pass down to us.”
